Product Description The Panasonic SDR-S7 is a lightweight, compact camcorder that you can take just about anywhere with you, as you would a small digital camera. The SDR-S7 records images to MPEG2 format directly onto an SD or SDHC card, and is resistant to shocks and bumps. It's ready for action in just 0.6 secs, thanks to the Quick Start function, and has Joystick navigation and a large 2.7 LCD screen for maximum user-friendliness. Besides all these features, the SDR-S7 includes an 800,000-pixel CCD sensor, so you can capture all those special moments as soon as they happen. There is also a USB 2.0 port and a PictBridge connection, allowing you to transfer images quickly and easily to a computer or printer. The SDR-S7 even has a DVD Copy button for saving your creations to DVD using your computer.

Apalling Camera, A Kids Toy!! December 26, 2008 Camera Guy (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've just bought a Panasonic SDR-S7, for anyone thinking of buying one my advice is....... Don't!! Absolute junk, a glorified kid's toy. It shoots 16:9 format but if you output at highest quality setting it won't display at 16:9 on any program apart from MotionSD Studio. If you upload to Youtube e.g. it squashes the image to 4:3. You can output 16:9 to play on other programs apart from Motion SD but with a loss of quality. You can however shoot in 4:3 but that rather defeats the object. The image quality is appalling even at best setting and the supplied AV leads are a waste of time as the image quality is dire when played back on a widescreen TV. As for the software, well in keeping with the camera the software is equally dire, the editing suite is rubbish even by the standards of Windows Movie maker, title pages are rubbish and the software is un-intuitive generally. I can't seem to transfer the files direct to the PC from the SD card via the built in card reader, I have to transfer from the camera. Trying to save the files to a folder of your choice on the PC and then be able to access those files from the editing suite is nothing short of a nightmare. I should add that while the camera can capture still images they are only 0.3mp!!! That's not a misprint in case you think I meant 3.0mp. I would expect better results from a web cam to be honest, in fact my 4 year old 5mp compact can produce better results but unfortunately only records in Quicktime which means converting the file format prior to editing. In short the Panasonic SDR-S7 is a major disappointment not to mention a complete waste of money.
Poor quality images December 7, 2008 J. Page (UK) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought this item because I wanted a small, convenient SD based camcorder. The item is really compact, if a little plasticy. I also have a mini DV camcorder and all I can say is that there is absolutely no comparison between the images produced by the 2 camcorders. Indoors this camcorder produces an image that is pretty much useless because it is so grainy. I tried it outside in bright sunshine and found it to also be bit grainy. What was worse was that when panning the camcorder the image seems to break up a bit which makes for very annoying viewing. I returned mine and got a refund.
There's better products out there for the price December 5, 2008 Ary4000 (London) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I ordered this camera thinking it was great value. When it arrives I was really disappointed. It is more like a toy. Great for some purposes but not for mine. Amazon were great though. I sent it back and got a full refund. I have since ordered a Sony camera for 20 less and it is very high quality.
Great camera, but NOT HD November 24, 2008 Mr. Robert Zabrocky 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a fantastic little camcorder, good audio and video quality, ridiculously easy to use. But it is listed as a HD camcorder, which it isn't.
ITS THE SIZE OF A LARGE MOUSE! November 9, 2008 Richard Davros Godfrey (WATFORD) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Bought this with no clue about tecno stuff -I just wanted something cheap and small for a holiday to India. Very nice little video camera -so small you could pop it in your top pocket -similar QVC rubbish around for the same money made by So-knee etc -this is a top make for little money -really simple to operate so good for granny or mum whos used to shoulder mounted 1990s cameras. One criticism -is has poor low light recording abiltiy. -just use it outside -what do you want for 140 -themal night vision!!. Buy it -you will like it.
