Product Description Although the Exilim Zoom EX-Z80 is designed primarily for taking photos, it s also great for recording videos. The Exilim Zoom EX-Z80 is part of Casio s Exilim range of cameras, specifically suited to filming short clips for internet video sites. The Exilim Zoom EX-Z80 records videos directly to H.264 format, meaning you can upload your creations to the internet easily. The Exilim Zoom EX-Z80 also has an 8.1-megapixel CCD sensor to capture even the tiniest details, and includes an Anti Shake DSP stabiliser so you can get rid of blur. Thanks to its Best Shot and Easy modes, even beginners can take stunning photos. The EX-Z80 s other features include a number of special settings and modes that adapt to all kinds of situations, so you can take photos just like a pro; among these is a face detection mode that finds faces in photos and focuses in on them, emphasising smiles. Casio gives us yet another example of its technological expertise with the Exilim Zoom EX-Z80!

Just not what I expected - Lazy offering December 17, 2008 Dara O. Muircheartaigh I feel very let down by Casio on this one. Having previously owned an Exilim (Which was excellent) this feels like it was made by another company. The screen is of poor quality, the delete button is very badly placed, to return to taking pictures you press what seems to be the wrong button. The zoom is flimsy. It's like they took several good points with the previous Exilim series and replaced them with bad points. I reckon they must have outsourced the build of this product to some low cost outfit. Also to top it all off they have put all the instruction languages into ONE manual, this might give you an indication of how lazy the quality of this camera feels. I'm just so disappointed I didn't go with a Canon or Sony. (I'm giving it 2 stars for its's compact size and nice looks)
alright for normal life December 15, 2008 J. Winter (Oxford) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
this is the 2nd exilim i've had (the previous model was brilliant) this one is good, but not great the on/off switch is vulnerable to accidental switching on in your pocket (meaning the lens quite often opens on its own - could lead to damage in the future) the anti-shake without the flash is really quite poor without a tripod the "youtube compatible" video format is a farse (aren't all formats compatible with youtube?!). It saves vidoes as '.mov' files which don't play in windows media player and can't be edited by windows movie player. Bring back .avi other than that it's a very good camera. perhaps too many sacrifices have been made for the superficial compact size and larger pixel count.
Fantastic and pratical! December 3, 2008 C. mayer (Stafford) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Wow, I had this purchase bought for be last month, it's fantastic in my opinion! Very pratical, there's a range of useful things this camera can do including: Master shots, firework shots (I tried this out at a local bonfire, it really does work!)Pastel shots, black&white shots, monochrome shots, pet shots, family shots, magazine shots etc. During dark periods, it takes fantastic images. This camera is extremely simple to use, set up etc, my only down side to the casio is the life span of battery is up to a period of 1:30 mins, and for some is'nt really incredbly much. Many people associate "Casio" with watches and calculaters but now you can also say cameras, i am Very Very pleased with the casio software, as it's also easy to transfer pictures to your computer (with a USB cable) I dearly reccomend this product, so why not give it a "shot"!! Lol Thankyou also for reading my review, and wish you look with your purchase.
Great pocket camera. Shame about the price. December 2, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Very small camera. EAsy to fit in pocket. Was under 80 though and since the VAT reduction instead of the price decreasing it has increased by over 15. Was going to order the camera again for my sister but i will try elsewhere now as this is not the first time Amazon have increased prices since the VAT reduction. I thought the government did this to benefit consumers? I've written to my MP highlighting my concerns and showing many examples to prove my case. Another customer lost Amazon... well done! BTW the hama case that is free is worthless. It will scratch the LCD screen as has no inner protection for it.
So happy with my Exilim,I bought one for my 5 year old :-) November 24, 2008 S. Eardley (Bury Lancs) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Having just received this camera for my 5 year old's birthday present,I thought i would leave a comment on how good it really is.Having had an Exilim of my own for the last 2 and a half years, dropping it a couple of times as well as the usual knocks-IT STILL LOOKS BRAND NEW.My little girl has not put it down since she opened it,Pictures are very clear,as is the video. If i had any doubt about the build on the casio exilim,i would'nt have bought a 5 year old one,but i did'nt hesitate for one moment. In short a fantastic camera and very easy to use.
