most splendid little thing December 29, 2008 K. Merkel (London) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I realised how much one depends on the experiences of others. So here is the sung praise for this tiny camera. I had a beloved Ixus, when film was known to be inside a camera and not only in cinemas. My first foray into digital was a Fuji FinePix E900. An ok bulky workhorse, which threw itself, lens extended, on a stone step and died unceremoniously. Now with the prices having come down so much for the Canons I could not resist to get the digital version of the Ixus. Thanks to the reviews I opted for this one. And this tiny little thing (the pink is nice, even for a non pink person)is really amazing. The thought which has gone into the operation system is impressive. Fiddling with buttons gets you into operation mode in no time and then the delight starts. The quality of the pictures is really breathtaking. To call them sharp is an understatement. The most amazing thing is the small amount of light this camera can work with to dazzle with quality! It has a digital zoom which increases the optical up to 12 and to my surprise the sharpness of pictures taken by bad artificial light with the digital zoom was excellent. The flash likes to barge in, but is rarely needed. Impressive as well is when it comes to loading pictures to the computer. Again, the thought, which has gone into this set-up makes this whole experience a pleasure. The organisation skills the program presents and the possibilities of editing it offers are most impressive. Well they claim: Canon can. And Canon can do indeed. This tiny gem I highly recommend. And a big thank you to amazon who worked a total surprise miracle with their speedy delivery.
Lovely little camera December 9, 2008 JE Moore (Suffolk UK) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Super camera. It is flat and compact, and it's easy to use. It has a viewfinder which I think is vital on a digital camera especially out of doors when the sun renders the LCD screen useless. I had the earlier IXUS 6MP Canon and liked it so much I've stuck with the model. The flash is adequate. Battery life is good but I always take a spare in case. I've even dropped it without harming it. I have also given one each to two other people. That's because I think it is so good for day-to-day photography. John
Great value camera August 9, 2008 Haydn Chilcott (Swansea UK) 58 out of 58 found this review helpful
What a fantastic camera for the price. Easy to use. Small. Sleek. Clear large screen. Good battery life. Video facility gives excellent results. Memory card too small. Buy larger memory separately. No case, but you can pick one up on e-bay for a fiver!! Would recommend to anyone. Pink version at least 10 less than silver. Who needs silver!!
brilliant camera August 7, 2008 Alice F. Mawdsley (Cheshire. uk) 55 out of 56 found this review helpful
Bought this to replace a casio that i was not to happy with. I'm very happy with this camera. The pics are sharp and clear,(even though i have a slight hand shake)and the colours are brilliant and need very little if any, correction in an imaging software.Have taken the best pictures of my grandchildren in a long time. Thought the pink might be a bit over the top, but i love it. Only moan is i would have liked a proper manual as i like browsing them. Lots of thing i haven't tried on this camera yet but i'm having a lot of fun,and it hasn't been to difficult up to now
Lovely Camera July 27, 2008 Mandy (London, England) 44 out of 45 found this review helpful
I am thrilled with the purchase of my first digital camera. It's compact, light and gorgeous in pink! Also, the best price through Amazon. It was really easy to start using and takes excellent pictures/vids which are really easy to upload. The camera may be small but the screen is ample. I also purchased a 2Gb card for extra storage. Shame it doesn't come with a decent case. Buy it and enjoy it!
