4 out of 5 stars A good camera   September 14, 2008

I bought this camera after my previous Sony cybershot camera broke (it was dropped on the floor).

It is a good size and is great for recording short bits of footage, teh sound quality is quite good.

My only problem with it, is that I wish it had some of the features that my previous cubershot camera had such ha fireworks / sports settings.

But it is a good all-rounder camera.

Well what can i say about this camera, i recieved it on Friday, took it out on the town and straight away started snapping my pics as soon as i was on the train, the pictures are lovely, and the memory is fantastic,
the features are very good, and the battery charge (3.5 hrs for full charge) is very good.
The software included is very user friendly and is a doddle to setup

I highly recommend this Camera to first timers as its my first Digital camera, after owning the excellent K800i camera phone, which was one of the reasons which led me to chose this item

Excellent 10 on 10!
Lovely Stuff!

From the fast startup time, to the bright 2.5" LCD, this camera is amazing! I have had this camera for 7 months now, and I am still incredibly impressed with everything about it. I have used many different cameras, and this one is by far the easiest to use, and simplest to take good pictures! However, you need to make sure that you get a good memory card (I suggest 1GB) because the 7.2 MP pictures eat through space like anything, and a case is also essential, so as not to ruin the gorgeous screen. The only remotely flimsy part of the whole design is the DC in port door, but unless you buy a special charger, you dont need it anyway, so it doesnt matter!

I have had this camera for a week or so and continue to be thoroughly impressed with all aspects. It is simple enough for my 5 year old daughter to use and yet has enough features to keep a keen amateur snapper happy. Viewing and downloading pictures is quick and easy and the controls aren't too fiddly for such a compact camera. The Zeiss lens gives excellent results while shutter response is very rapid. All in all the W70 is a very impressive little camera.

I was torn between this camera and a similarly priced Canon. The feature for me that swung it is the dial on the back which gives easy access to the various shooting modes. Most other compact digi cameras require you to navigate through menus to change shooting modes which is really laborious but with the Sony you can effortlessly change modes with the dial. The picture quality is excellent and the software interface is very good. The battery lasts for ages but can take up to 5 hours to charge. The camera is really compact but feels nicely robust and well made. Overall, you won't go far wrong with this product.
