 Wow!! I can now take good photographs September 3, 2010

Before this purchase i owned several digital and standard cameras. They were all good for specific things only. I bought this to backup my canon SLR for close ups and just remembering the area the photo was taken.
It turns out that this camera takes better pictures than the £500 + Canon. It is highly versatile and has a remarkable zoom. Once you get used to the scene choice button you can really start to make use of the features. All in all a brilliant piece of kit.

This is an excellent compact camera. Bought this camera after my other camera packed in and have been very pleased with it. The picture quality is excellent and the has plenty of features. I think there are some features missing (some of the maual mode configuration) that some of it's competitors have for the more experienced photographers but it has more than enough features / configuration options for the amateur. The battery life is very good on this as well and will last you for a good while.
So... If you're looking for a good, easy to use and reliable compact camera, then look no further!

When i first got this camera I was very impressed by the quality of the photos and the video. The optical zoom during movie recording was an excellent feature. Honestly for photos and video in this price range it doesn't get better than this.
Unfortunately in the 13th month I owned the camera it suddenly lost the capacity to focus in wide angle mode and now a few weeks later it can't focus at all except in the mid-range of the zoom. The sturdy looks of the camera then belie a rather fragile device - this is evident by the fact that Panasonic only offered a 1 yr warranty whereas most other devices available here are offered with a 2 yr warranty.
I had an exilim before this that has now lasted about 5 years with far rougher use so i am quite disappointed with the TZ6 and its put me off panasonic cameras. I am looking for a super zoom camera again now but will probably try a canon this time.

I wanted a really easy to use auto everything camera with uber zoom. I had experienced my friends TZ5 and was really pleased with the pictures and zoom. This one is just as good, not sure if it's any better though and so far had no problems with it what so ever. It is perfect for our requirements and we are really chuffed with it.

Recently took delivery of my TZ6 which I felt was a bargain at £155 - powerful and good quality Leica zoom lens, pretty intuitive controls and a more substantial feel than some of the competition make this ideal for a compact. Very easy to use too.
Image stabilizer not always as effective as you'd like plus the fact I've just had to fork out a painful £35 (yes really) for a Panasonic spare battery (replicas often don't work with the firmware on this and other later TZ modela like the 7,8, & 10) are the only downsides, and that's what loses it a point - if I could have given a 4.5 that's what I'd have done...
