The image quality of this camera is exactly what you'd expect from a small personal video camera. It's not as good as a full size camcorder but it is more portable and easier to use. The manual is OK but if you aren't technically minded you may find it hard going. The buttons and menus are all straightforward though.
I also like how they have added some extra functionality very cheaply - e.g. the ear phone socket allows it to be used as a normal mp3 player and the unit can also read books in .TXT format. The bundled software allows conversion of DVD's to be viewed on the unit. The fact that it looks like an old-style leather compact camera is also something some people will prefer.
Overall this unit is great for the price.

I bought this camcorder rather than others advertised because I wanted longer than an hour recording, thus being able to add memory cards was the advantage. The camcorder itself is good quality and after seeking advice from someone with more knowledge I find its has a great spec. However, when purchased I did not pick up that although it will accept 32MB it only accepts 2gb cards and SD rather than HD. I bought 8gb HD card that Amazon stated other people who bought the camera bought - however this would not load on camera - quick manaul not very good very basis whilst the manual on the disc provided is obviously for people who know about cameras etc with little explanation of technical terms etc - the online helpline didn't respond to my emails - I had to ask a work colleague who explained the camera will not accept HD cards over 2gb.
