Does what it says on the tin, great book for complete beginners August 23, 2010 M. Thomas I ordered this because the Nikon D90 is my first DSLR. I have been using digital cameras for over a decade so I am quite familiar with basic features. This book explains a lot of the basics and much of Part I was irrelevant to what I needed because it was 'too' basic. That said, part II of the book is very useful for me. This is a great product and is well written and explains about the features of the D90 in plain, simple layman's terms, never taking it for granted that you would know the jargon. I would recommend this book to anyone who has purchased the D90 as their first DSLR and do not know too much about digital cameras. However, if you are more clued up on digital cameras and really want to get to know how to use the Nikon, I would suggest purchasing a book written by a dedicated Nikon fan - a book I recently purchased and prefer for a more advanced learning process - "Mastering the Nikon D90" by Darrell Young.
Just Right August 15, 2010 Deenesh This is a good book. If you have no experience with DSLR's, like I did, then this is a worthwhile investment.

When it comes to photography i fall into the catagory of dummy, this books offers tips, information both in general and specific to my camera. within minutes of reading this book and having the camera in front of me i had discovered so many new things i was beside myself with excitement. I found the manner in which the book had been written was supportive and discriptive leaving me in no doubt as to the various functions that the many buttons performed. I have not finished reading the bbok yet but i was so impressed with if i thought i would give it a review.

I've been taking and processing photos for over 50 years. I don't consider myself an expert, nor do I consider myself as a novice.
Being a Nikon enthusiast I bought the D90, a wonderful bit of equipment, I can now take digital photos, or can I?
I bought this book on the good reviews of others. Sorry I can't share the same enthusiasm.

I have compared this book with the original instruction book that came with the camera and found it somewhat confusing. Then i purchased Nikon D90 for dummies book and found it to be excellent.not being a profesional photographer the book takes you all the points you need to operate the camera in order and gives good Illastrations i would recommend this book to anyone due to the nikon d90 is complex and this book makes simple to use the camera as long you read the chapters in order.
